Mr Stonepot Chatswood: modern Chinese in Sydney, get ready to line up

Chef Vincent Lei has always been a legend among Chinese foodies in Sydney. After he left his well-known Burwood restaurant Mr Stonebowl, he moved on to open this brand new Chinese modern cuisine restaurant called Mr Stonepot. Located in a food court of a Chinese shopping mall, the restaurant is not large but with a bright kitchen, very neat and clean. We were lucky enough to come here really early during soft opening to avoid the lines. What we could tell from all the friends social media sharing these days is that the lined up crowd have pretty much taken over the whole food court. Menu is big, a mixture of all kinds of Chinese cuisines with other Asian flavours and Western twist, half are new innovated dishes, half are the upgrade versions of his previous signature dishes. Price is very good, actually for the food quality, efforts and thoughts that's been put into it, the price is quite cheap.

What we ate:

Caviar, Seaweed, Cucumber & Chicken Fresh Spring Rolls

Marinated Tender Chicken in Vegetable Sauce
I think there’s a secret amount of wasabi in the sauce, giving it a pleasant hint of heat.

Traditional Pan Fried Pork Bun (9)

Xiao Long Bao (9)
Super thin skin, very soupy inside, consistently good, the pork stuffing is not as sweet as the actual Shanghainese version from Shanghai, which is good cause more people here can accept the flavour.

Jinsha Eggplant
Deep Fried Eggplant in Bread Crumb, STAR DISH, MUST ORDER!!! So addicted.

Garlic Prawn & Green Lip Mussels with Stir Fried Rice in Squid Ink Sauce

Singapore Style Barramundi in Stone Bowl

Grilled Lamb Chop in Red Wine Sauce with Dried Rose Petal

  1. Went to this restaurant today at Haymarket.
    Worst, Absolute WORST SERVICE!
I arrived before noon and before the restaurant was busy and ordered tea, green beans with fried pork mince, and sizzling beef.
After 20 minutes I received my order for green beans.
After 50 minutes I had not received my tea or sizzling beef and it was OBVIOUS -> FOREIGNERS (non-chinese) are NOT WELCOME. Patrons arriving much later than me were receiving their orders and finishing their meals before I had received my order.
I cancelled the remainder of my order, paid for the beans and left.
    Warning to all
外国人 - do not go here.

Optical fiber cables are arranged in bundles in a sensible manner along with other components to protect the fiber during construction and ensure that the signal transmitted in the fiber cable is at least attenuated. A central fiberglass or refined plastic conductor is included to allow maximum light transmission. Fiber is coated with a lining to reflect the signal well.
